There is no alternative to the Arctic shelf.

This opinion was expressed by Sergey Donskoy, the Minister of Natural Resources and Environment of Russian Federation. According to him, suggestions to stop projects in the Russian Arctic are self-destructive for economy and future energy security of our country.

The oil production on the shelf is a locomotive of several related industries and scientific knowledge. Russian Arctic shelf exploration can be compared to the soviet conquest of the outer space in the sixties of the last century.
