Nuclear powered icebreaker Project 22220 will be laid down at the Baltic Shipyard

The first series nuclear icebreaker Project 22220 will be laid down place May 26 at the Baltic Shipyard in Saint Petersburg. Icebreakers of this project will have double-draft design that allows usage both in the Arctic waters and estuaries of the polar rivers.

The icebreakers are due to be put into commission in December 2019 and 2020.
